I Protest

I have read some complaints on other people's blogs about posting responses to Blogger in recent days, and I have become concerned. I recently got this blog because Yah**'s blog sucked was experiencing problems, and now friends may have trouble commenting on my new site! Poop!

And then this morning, I received this email!

Prof J.
I've tried to comment on your blog, but the comments section is different than it used to be. I've tried using the "Open" feature as Idon't have a Wordpress (or any other) identity featured. I'm so bummed.
Anastasia Beaverhausen

If the lovely, talented, and soon to be employed Anastasia Beaverhausen cannot comment on my lowly blog, I'm steamed!

I went to my blog control and found out that (although I had previously said anyone could post) the stupid thing was no longer set to allow annonymous posting. So I changed it again. Of course, if my name were as awsome as A. Beaverhausen, I would not want to reply annonymously. I am considering a new home.

What is a good server to use? I like the fact that Blogger is easy to use and free, but I am willing to change. You tell me.

I'm hanging tight for two reasons:

1. Pressure to fix is high and I bet Blogger responds soon.

2. It's a lot of trouble to change. I ought to know. I've been moving to my own domain for about seven months now LOL.

I use Wordpress on my domain and for my review blog. It was a learning curve but fine. I do like to GUI ease of Blogger, though.

As a reader, TypePad drives me batsh*t. Please don't go to TypePad.

Using My Words
People seem to like wordpress, but I'm on blogger, too, and it's OK for me so far. Then I'm not a super-blogger a la Julie Pippert :)

Hi Karen,
It could be that when you changed your template to the "wide" version, it reset your settings to the default, requiring you to consider them anew. Don't go lookin' for a new home just yet.
We'll have to dub you McSteamy II if you stay so steamed.

I started blogging on blogger but changed over to Wordpress because blogger was making my nuts; the changeover was easy and the transfer of archived files a snap, so I'd recommend Wordpress.
Ms. Beaverhausen's name is phenomenal! My couin has a Dutch name of similar proportions and I often find myself saying her ENTIRE sonorous name to her when we speak. I'm 41 and that STILL gives me the giggles.

Well, we're going to have to do something, Professor J. because Anastasia Beaverhausen is the bomb. Mass exodus perhaps?

A. Beaverhausen? What a brilliant name. That brightened my entire day. Ummm I am too tired to think. I have finals. My husband has finals, the kids have finals. If I contemplate the pros and cons of a mass exodus from blogger my head may explode. I shouldn’t even be taking a break to look at blogs. I'll think about it all late next week.

well, wordpress is pretty great...
I'm having trouble with the blog comments on Blogger blogs, too, but I'm assuming Blogger is busy fixing it. Right?

I'm too much of a homebody to move so quickly, but if you do, please leave a forwarding address.

I think I've had some of the same problem - people unable to post without an account even though I set it that way. I'm sticking with Blogger though.

Blogger has been giving me grief too. (My sister said she can hardly ever comment on my account. At least she told me.) Other blogger accounts seem to freeze up.

I go back and forth on switching. I guess I take a little comfort in knowing it's not just me & my lowly computer.

I've been considering wordpress or typepad.

I've gotten complaints as well, especially recently. I hope they fix it because I've tried other places and didn't like them nearly as well.

There is lots of talk in the air - on the blogs about this. Although I haven't seen anyone else with A. Beaverhausen as a reader. I think Blogger will step up. I certainly hope they do. Why don't we all blast them with email complaints!

Oooh, loving the new look!

Love this red, you hottie!

Looks like Blogger stepped up to the plate and there is now the drop down option for all and sundry to post. :)
