I gained two pounds last week and then lost them--leaving me even. I did, however lose 1/2 an inch on my waist and 1 inch on my hips. So that's progress, I guess.
Girl, I feel you! It's a long hard road. I was doing really good on my personal Butt Reduction plan until summer hit, and then, not so much. I'm just trying to not gain anything back until it gets cooler and I can get back on the horse.
Inches is MAJOR progress! It skips right past that confusing 'muscle actually weighs more than fat' adage and right into a healthier heart and new clothing sizes right around the corner. You go, girl!
Prof J, I got hung up on the "but I'm not losing weight" thing, which led me to reevaulate (stop going to) boot camp, which led my upper arms to return to jiggledom and my pants to stop fitting me. THE INCHES MATTER MORE THAN THE WEIGHT. Keep it up! You're doing great.
Every inch is progress! Toned muscle weighs more than fat, that's what I've always been told. So even if your scale went up or stayed even, if you're exercising and building muscle, its progress!
You're making that fat-muscle exchange and it's grueling and demoralizing. HOWEVER! Remember that muscle weighs more than fat and at some point how you look and how your clothes feel on you make for a more reliable measuring stick than the scales.
Where are you Prof J? I'm dying to hear your take on the Sarah Palin debacle! Happy September to ya from Italy, where it still feels like August to me! :) ~Tui
