Resolutions

I have no resolutions. But I have a title. I have a plan. This is the year of community.

I will take some risks and meet some people. I will make friends who live in in the same state--maybe even the same city--as me.

I like your *resolution*. Maybe I should call it a theme or aspiration?

Anyhow, I can relate since most of my friends are too far away to get together very often. Thanks to the world of blogging, I have made a few good friends that live within an hour's drive.

I think resolutions are overrated. A title sounds good. A plan even better. I'll be tuning in to see what unfolds.

Don't take the wrong risks though. Good choices have good results in life. And Always push yourself to a challenge... My quote is
"Always believe to achieve.
Always achieve to succeed."
or

Bloggy friends, Are you sitting down? Oh, right. Anyway, I have big news! Last night I got a call from my cousin Butch (hereafter known as the best cousin a girl could have or BC). Joni Mitchell once wrote, "All I really, really want our love to do is to bring out the best in me and in you, too." It didn't. My partner and I have separated. We tried. We really tried. I am embarrassed to admit this. I even considered erasing this blog from the internet so that I would not embarrass myself or her. But my whole purpose in blogging was to have some kind of a community where I could be open and explore my writing in a personal way. You have shared the good things with me. In an effort to comfort me, both Mrs. T and Melanie mentioned some Texans who have made the world a better place. I can only say, amen, sisters. Here's one who makes me prouder than I can say. "Who then will speak for America? Who then will speak for the common good?" Barbara Jordon (1936-1996) was born in Houston Texas' West End. She became a state legislator in 1966, served as president of the "ledge," became a congresswoman, gained some notoriety during the Watergate hearings, and gave the key note address at the Democratic National Convention in 1976.
