At the "Asian Buffet"

Susan: "I wonder what the cat says."

Karen: "I don't know."

Susan: "I wonder what the pig says."

Morgan: "The cat says meow, the pig says oink."

LOL...obviously! (Was there a DUH! tone?)

I can help you out, though. The cat is a Maneki Neko. The Beckoning Cat. It is a sign of welcome and good fortune. All shops should have one, with the cat facing the front door where people enter.

Beckoning Cat is what the symbols say.

Occasionally, having studied Japanese in college has its very rare uses (especially since I sucked at it and don't recall much of anything at all---although I can still distinguish Asian languages in general).

LOL! How very true!

I liked this a lot. Those are fantastic pieces... our buffet has oodles of fishtanks.

Julie,
Not a boring lecture at all! And yes, there was a "Duh" tone to Morgan's comment.

And just exactly how much did you pay for your advanced degrees?

Perfect. If my thirteen-year-old had been there he would have yelled SNAP.
