A Bit of Emily

Portraits are to daily faces
As an evening west
To a fine, pedantic sunshine
In a satin vest.

That's one dignified dog...
Whoa...did you create that picture?

I can seriously see an entire book of famous author's with dog/animal heads being a big seller.

And that's a beautiful verse!
damn...pardon my wild, random apostrophe....

Let me try posting a comment now, with BRAIN ON and ENGAGED.

1. Emily is one of my favorites.
2. That's beautiful, verse and photo.

In fact, awesome.

Well it looks like your photoshop skillz are on the rise. I think Emily would like this. She clearly had a wicked sense of humor.

Oh...I am SO jealous of your photoshop. Very intense doggie.

What a sweet and intelligent-looking doggie. I love her lovely black nose and her long, svelte neck!

And a lovely verse, too, I might add.

When I first read that poem I thought it said feces... instead of faces... My bad.
Karen Jensen said…
Why, I never! Emily Dickinson never wrote about feces! She wrote about a fly landing on the eye of a recently dead person, and a bird eating a worm, but feces?! Never! :-)

Emily is my fave, and I haven't seen this one in, well, a dog's age! The poem would have been enough; the portrait makes this one sublime post. Thank you!
